Brown, Emily
President

Under Emily's direction IPAPA has improved communication to parents, organized staff appreciation events, added community building events like the Fall Family Festival and Chili Cookoff, and reached out to involve IPA with its Kapolei neighbors. She has been active in many ways for IPA, including chaperoning for field trips, working the Scholastic Book Fair, hosting new families, making costumes for the Middle School musical, and chairing or co‐chairing the auction for IPA's Annual Mardi Gras event for the last three years. Emily has two children at IPA (Class of '17 and '19). Term expires June 2012. 

Troutman, Shannon
Vice-President

Shannon found that once she accepted her first volunteer assignment--assembling goodie bags at the IPA Golf Tournament--she couldn't stop and even got her mom involved. In 2009, as a JK parent she quickly found her niche chairing the JK Art Show and co-chairing the auction at Mardi Gras.  In 2010 she served as the Lower Elementary IPAPA Director. Shannon says the welcoming attitude that encompasses IPA, its teachers, staff and administration helped her "develop a special love and admiration for the school and a strong belief in all it stands for." Shannon's daughter attends IPA (Class of '23). Term expires June 2013.

Kobayashi, Irene
Treasurer

Irene is a general accountant by trade and relishes the opportunity to make a difference at IPA. She hopes to bring in new and fresh ideas as IPA catapults to new levels. She served as the IPAPA Director for Grades 3-5 (Upper Elementary) during 2010-2011.  Irene has a son at IPA (class of '18) and was the winner of the inaugural Chili Cook Off "Golden Ladle" award. Term expires June 2013.

Cullison, Deb
Secretary

Deb is a frequent volunteer at the school, especially in the Elementary Office.  She has volunteered with the Mardi Gras committee, numerous book fairs, and served as a CPR.  Deb's son (Class of 2021) attends IPA.  Deb, who was elected to be Representative for Grades 3-5 during 2010-2011, was appointed to fill the remainder of the term which expires June 2012. 

de Lugo, Charles
Director Grades JK-2

Charles, a founding parent with two sons attending I.P.A. (Classes of '16 and '22), is a Police Officer with the Department of Defense. Charles says "volunteering is in his blood", whether it is for the Hawaii March of Dimes, Special Olympics, IPA Mardi Gras, chaperoning on a field trips, or helping construct the  IPA Holiday Float.  “Being involved makes all the difference for our school and especially our students,” he says.  Charles served as the Representative Grades 6-8 2010-2011. Term expires June 2012.

Paz, Dee
Director Grades 3-5

Dee, who works as a nurse at Pali Momi, is better known around the IPA campus as "Mrs. Box Tops." When Dee took over as volunteer coordinator for this popular fundraiser in 2009, she raised the bar creating an entire persona in pink to present prizes at the Elementary assemblies. She is currently seeking an apprentice (click here for more information). Dee has been a CPR for the past 5 years and really enjoys participating and helping make a difference at IPA. Her son (Class of 2019) attends IPA. Dee moved into the representative position when Deb Cullison took over as Secretary. Term expires June 2012. 

Weinhardt, Susan
Director Grades 6-8

Susan, a founding IPA parent, is a registered nurse with the State Department of Health. She brings years of experience as a volunteer at another private school (parents association and Project Grad) and since 2006 has been the volunteer coordinator of child care at IPA's Mardi Gras. Susan is looking forward to her year as the Middle School director on the IPAPA board as a chance to "take a more active role in the support of our children and the school." Her son (Class of '18) attends IPA.  Term expires June 2012. 

Torii, Sheri
Director Grades 9-10

Sheri is an accountant by trade. During 2010-2011 she was an active volunteer for the Class of 2011's Project Grad. With this recent experience, she looks forward to assisting IPAPA as a representative for grades 9-10. Sheri is mom to an IPA alumna (Class of 2011) and another daughter attending IPA (Class of 2015). Term expires June 2012.

Becherer, Rich
Director Grades 11-12

Rich has worked for the Department of Defense (DOD) for over 25 years, the last 11 as an IT Administrator for the Marine Corps at Camp Smith. He has been following Dr. Dan’s motto of “whenever you can, help” as a volunteer for class field trips, events such as Mardi Gras or school plays, and acting as the unofficial photographer for the IPA Cross Country and Swim teams. His daughter attends IPA (Class of '13).  RIch served as Representative Grades 9-10 during 2010-2011. Term expires June 2012.
