Capital Giving

“No gym, no problem?” was what the shirts said that were worn by Navigator fans during the state championship tournaments after our boys Division II basketball team won the league title. But, the bravado of that claim misses the point that, really, IPA needs a gym!

Beyond athletic team practice and game space, all students will benefit from an indoor place for physical education classes, especially on rainy or overly hot days. There is a general shortage of gym space on Oahu, which the addition of another gym in West Oahu will help to relieve. We also envision this facility as a resource for wider community use.

IPA has developed with Kiewit Building Group a design/build program in coordination with Media 5 Architecture. A preliminary set of plans has been approved by the Design Review Committee for the City of Kapolei. Once the school has gifts and pledges to meet the estimated $4.5 million cost of the project, construction time should be about 6-8 months.

We gratefully acknowledge these early donors who have helped to grow the capital fund gifts and pledges to over $800,000 in 2010-2011:

There will be a number of naming opportunities for donors. The school welcomes inquiries about this project and invites donors to contact the Director of Advancement regarding pledges to the Capital Fund.
